Pacem In Vita is a conflict resolution program for children in junior and senior high school based on Taijiquan, a Chinese martial art.
Stress and violence in our schools and communities is a major problem. Memories of Columbine still haunt us, and children are growing up with the fears and visions of 9/11. They don't feel safe, they don't feel protected. This causes even more violence as children, inexperienced and unable to handle the stress, react by striking back - causing even more violence.

The goals of the program itself are straightforward:
This program has been piloted in several schools and the results have been extremely positive. Not only are there measurable differences in the amount of stress and violence among the adolescents who take part in this program, but they also report enjoying it. Many embark on life changes as a result of this program.
We are requesting the funding we need to enhance and expand the program. We wish to make it available to more schools and community programs.
This program is sponsored by Pacem in Terris and the Pacem In Vita Institute
